Storytelling news: Kentucky and southern Ohio, upcoming workshops.

News of KSA member and more storytelling opportunities.

Paschal Baute led a retreat on Healing Stories and Storytelling for the Spiritual Growth Network of Kentucky on, December 4 to 6, at the Knobs Haven retreat center near Springfield, Ky. The workshop consisted of 3 three hour sessions, 1) Accessing one’s own stories, 2) Recognize the Shadow in Stories and 3) Practice in telling and designing stories.

Attn: Northern Ky KSA members. Paschal will lead three workshops for Ohio Psychologists at a February retreat southeast of Columbus, which usually attracts about 40 psychologists. Information is as follows. Note that this retreat is open to non-psychologists. Paschal has used storytelling in leading other workshops on spirituality for this group.

Central Ky. Many upcoming events in storytelling and workshops. The Spiritual Growth Network of Kentucky, an interfaith group now meeting regularly for 17 years is planning its 2007 year of Days of Recollection, on third Saturdays of most months and quarterly retreats around the theme of storytelling, healing stories and learning to tell one’s own story. There is no charge for these workshops. Contact below.

Stoytelling ministry to Inmates. Mary Kane and Paschal Baute have a storytelling ministry to inmates in a spiritual growth program at the Fayette County Detention Center. If interested in learning about this or participating, please contact one of us.

Paschal is a member of the Lexington Spellbinders storytelling chapter and is telling stories in three public schools. He is wiling to share information and experience about Spellbinders storytelling. Lexington is the only chapter of the national organization in the entire Ohio Valley. Mary Hamilton and Cynthia Changaris led the last two training workshops.
